Hispanic Heritage Celebration
September to October marks Hispanic Heritage Month — let’s have some fun and support your Latinx coworkers!
Hosted by Anna Medina Ochoa, this session shares Anna’s story, from her upbringing in Mexico to life in the US, getting involved in politics and becoming a professional dancer.
We’ve designed this to have something for everyone, with music and dance performance, an exploration of culture, and team discussions around the Latinx experience!

A quick overview
Join our Zoom link to meet your host Anna, a Mexican-American born in California and raised in Tijuana, Mexico.
She’ll bring your team up to speed with the history and significance of Hispanic Heritage Month, and why the US celebrates this from September 15 to October 15.
Anna will share about her life and family history too, including moving to the US and getting involved in politics as a Council Representative for the City of San Diego, plus her passion for dance (for which she has an MFA).
There will be frequent breakout groups and opportunities for discussion throughout, ensuring your team all gets to share their voices – with prompts like sharing where your team has (or wants to) travel in Latin America, and favorite foods and drinks.
The centerpiece is a dynamic presentation about Mexican culture, touching on folklore, dance, food, music and humor!
Finally we’ll have a discussion about allyship, why supporting Latinx communities matters today, and what you can do.

Nope! All you need to do is join the call, and our facilitators will take it from there, handling all the tech of moving your team into breakout groups as needed.
The default length for this event is 60 minutes, but we can run it as a shorter session too.
This works for ERGs, but it’s designed for entire teams and companies to enjoy! Bring along folks who might not know much about Latinx history, and they’ll have a great time 😊
